Any student wanting to pursue a career in management education in India has to appear for multiple tests — CAT, MAT, XAT, SNAP, etc…

Other than the IIMs, many of the other prestigious institutions like the XLRI have their own entrance exam. XRLI conducts its own exam — XAT — Cheap Jerseys from china every year.

The government has now announced that institutions offering post-graduate diplomas in management will have to subscribe to scores secured in CAT, MAT or tests conducted by the State government.

In the US, there is a common entrance exam — GMAT– which is accepted by all management colleges. Each college does not have a separate entrance tests.

In India, each college wanted to pursue its own entrance test in a bid to prove that it is a prestigious college. This led to a bizarre situations where a student had to prepare and appear for multiple tests. This will now reduce.

However, instead of recognising a couple of tests, we should also move to the US model where only one test is recognised by all institutions.
